Creation

On the third day, God created the plant world, referenced by three mega groups: grasses, herbs, and trees. These, of course, included the wonderful world of flowers. There at least three important facts about flowers that our Creator wants us to understand.

The first fact is that He created them.

And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so. And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind: and God saw that it was good. And the evening and the morning were the third day. (Genesis 1:11-13)

The second fact is that they are beautiful.

“And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like on of these.” (Matthew 6:28-29).

The third fact is that man’s life on the earth is as transitory as the flowers.

“For all flesh is as grass is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away: But the word of the Lord endureth forever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you.” (1 Peter 1 :24-25)
